ANGEL FIRE SKI AREA
This ski resort is located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, in Northern New Mexico. The name came from the Indians who saw a pink light of alpen glow on the surrounding mountains. Wheeler Peak (the highest peak in New Mexico) is the peak of the resort at 13,161 feet. This helps to form "The Enchanted Circle", which Angel Fire is a part of, and is formed by the surrounding mountains. Today it has up-to-date lodging facilities, a village, and an expansive terrains. They offer a variety of activities, including skiing, snowboarding, cross-country, snowshoe, tube, and snow bike. Their current season runs from December to March.
